I. Camera
equipment Calling night bird
Primary camera • Nikon F3, with three lenses, 24mm f/2.8, 55mm f/2.8 macro and 100-300 mm f/5.6 zoom. This sturdy old camera is used for most of the pictures. A monopod also used as a walking stick came in handy a few times.

Backup camera • Olympus μ-II. This is a very small, wheather resistant, point-and-shoot camera. It also has a flash and was used for many indoor and night pictures.

Underwater camera • Sea&Sea MX-10 with a YS-40A flash. We rented this camera during the last day of the dive safari.

Film • Fujicolor Sensia II, 100 ASA. We shot about 14 rolls of film during the three weeks.

II. Sound
equipment Morning in Long Banga
Recorder • Sony MZ-R91 minidisc player. We recorded a bit more than 2 hours of sound during the trip.

Microphone • Sony ECM-MS907, stereo microphone.
